WANGBERG OR “EIRIK THE NORWEGIAN”, A NICKNAME GIVEN TO HIM BY PAUL McCARTNEY INCREDIBLY RARE SONG TITLE "PAUL & LINDA McCARTNEY RAM" MISPRINT HYPE STICKER ORIGINAL 1971 WISE PUBLICATIONS “RAM” 60-PAGE SONGBOOK WITH THE ALBUM'S LYRICS AND PHOTOS ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Original very rare 1 st US West Coast Capitol Records pressing of Paul & Linda McCartney’s album “Ram” released on Apple Records in 1971 and no less rare original Wise Publications “Ram” 60-page 8.5” x 11” softcover songbook that was released concurrently with the album and which besides the album’s song lyrics, notes and guitar chords features tons of rare photos of Paul by Linda and some photos taken by Paul himself. Pressed in May, 1971 at the Capitol Records plant in Los Angeles besides the plant’s identifier in the form of an asterisk ✲ symbol in the runout grooves, this copy contains the full apple labels on both sides that could be found only on the rare Los Angeles pressings . Aside from that, the cover of this copy contains an original incredibly rare song title “Paul & Linda McCartney Ram” misprint hype sticker affixed to the cover at the bottom underneath the shrink wrap. The sticker contains a misprint indicating "To Many People" as oppose to "Too Many People". This promotional sticker is extremely rare and was affixed to the very early 1 st pressing copies only. The sticker’s design and font are analogous to the stickers used by Apple Records on the White Album and John Lennon's solo albums whose covers also don't have any information concerning the song titles on the front and back. 1 st print cover variation with the "Manufactured by APPLE RECORDS, INC 1700 Broadway, New York, N.Y. 10019 Printed in U.S.A." credits in the lower left-hand corner on the back. The catalog number "SMAS-3375" is indicated at the bottom of the spine. Original 1 st pressing West Coast, Capitol Records, Los Angeles, CA pressing with the asterisk ✲ plant identifier and “EW/N”, the initials of the mastering engineer Eirik W. Wangberg or “Eirik the Norwegian”, a nickname given to him by Paul McCartney, in the runout grooves. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - SMAS-1-3375-Z1.. 1 EW/N ✲ ; Side 2 - SMAS-2-3375-F-33. 1 ✲. The album comes with an original Apple Records white die-cut plain white inner sleeve. ★ The cover remaining in the original factory shrink wrap is in superb Near Mint condition, just like the original songbook with the fully intact pages not having any writing. The vinyl retains a beautiful factory lacquer having only a couple of super light and barely noticeable surface scuffs from the original paper inner sleeve which is in Near Mint condition and doesn't have any splits or tears. The Near Mint labels are very clean and don't have any scuffs, wear or spindle marks.
