Description

This is the original ink on paper artwork by Paul Conrad for a political cartoon that ran in the Los Angeles Times in 1974. One Supreme Court justice says to the other Well If He Won't Pay Any Attention To Congress, What Makes You Think He'll Pay Any Attention To Us? (in reference to President Nixon). The heavy art paper measures 11 1/4'' x 14 1/4''. I got several of these drawings years ago from the estate of Margaret Gretchell and with them I also got 3 letters from Paul Conrad in which her purchases are discussed. Evidently he made these available after they appeared in the newspaper but in one letter Conrad tells Gretchell that he was keeping the drawing she requested for himself. The drawing is signed in ink by Paul Conrad and inscribed to Margaret Gretchell. Condition is excellent. As always, all my offerings may be returned for a refund if you wish (buyer pays shipping unless I have misrepresented).
