Description

Scarce original pressing on 12" vinyl by Japanese artist Ryuichi Sakamoto entitled "Neo Geo" from 1987. It is on the Epic Records label (Catalog #E40994). A very interesting listen from an artist ahead of his time! Other artists on the LP include Bootsy Collins and Bill Laswell on bass and Sly Dunbar & Tony Williams on drums. The record has some small scuffs/scratches over the first track on Side 1. Mostly the album plays VG+, but at the beginning there is distracting crackle & surface noise of short duration (there's also a bit of minor, light crackle in between some tracks & in quiet passages). It has nice gloss, no label damage, and does not appear too far from new. Overall, I grade the record VG --it is a pleasant, but not perfect, listening experience. The inner sleeve is unfortunately made of the kind of paper that splits extremely easily, and all sides have seam splits; one side is almost completely split from top to bottom. Otherwise, it appears rarely handled and is in nice shape. I put the record into a new inner sleeve to prevent further damage. The jacket is still in its original shrink, complete with hype sticker & Tower Records price sticker (w/slight tear). It has only minor wear from storage, including slightly rounded corners & a small tear in the shrink near the artist's chin. I grade the jacket VG+ . A reasonably nice copy overall! Contains 8 tracks: Before Long Neo Geo Risky Free Trading Shogunade Parata Okinawa Song - Chin Nuku Juushii After All LP will be shipped outside the jacket in a cardboard record mailer. I grade vinyl using Goldmine standards as a guide and Near Mint is my highest grade for preowned vinyl. I am a longtime record collector (not a store), and I ship Monday-Friday. I have only one copy of most items in my inventory. Please know that vinyl is an imperfect medium, and new vinyl (especially colored vinyl and picture discs) can be subject to minor surface noise and/or imperfections. I rate sealed vinyl "mint" but, as any seasoned record buyer knows, pressing quality will vary. Your package will usually go out the next business day after purchase, though in rare cases it may take two business days. I will gladly combine shipping if requested prior to payment. Thank you for looking!
